Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Canaveral Air Station, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a 17-space sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and road / highway.

Port Ops Facility 01066 parking area, including adjacent Poseidon Wharf area consists of approximately 87,000 Sq Ft and accommodates approximately 180 parking stalls, 1 and 2-way traffic lanes, wheel stops, bollards, 1 designated area for multiple dumpsters, utilities (transformers, backflow preventers, etc.) and 1 area designated for trailers and boats. All utilities, concrete pavement areas/anchors and 8-wheel stops (3 of which are officially assigned) will remain in place and shall be protected at all times. At Port Ops Bldg, reconfiguration of existing striping will be required to allow for 2 new handicap parking spaces (exact location to be determined during construction); access ramp will not be required. The existing parking for DASO HQ, Facility 90302 is comprised of three areas of pavement adjacent to the facility and access road, with a total number of approximately 58 parking stalls (26 located at West side, 19 on the South side and 13 on the East), 2-way traffic lanes, concrete curb at parking perimeter, bollards, and 1 dumpster designated area. Existing to remain utilities (transformers, backflow preventers, lift station, etc.) are located outside of the area of work, are not in scope and shall be protected at all times. On the East and West side, reconfiguration of the 13 parking stalls striping and concrete sidewalks is required to accommodate 3 new handicap parking spaces. In addition, the existing wood stage and concrete pedestals must be removed and disposed of to accommodate approximately 17 new parking spaces. This would increase the total number of parking spaces from 58 to approximately 74 spaces (3 handicap spaces and approximately 71 regular-sized spaces). Both facilities’ asphaltic pavement areas are in need of repairs. The intent of the subject project is to repair / restore the exposed aggregate which has become loose gravel in several areas. The Port Ops pavement work consists of filling cracks in asphalt where applicable and seal-coat after cracks are sealed. The DASO HQ pavement work consists of the removal of 10’ of the asphalt surface course on the East & West face adjacent to the building and repair pothole area on the South area to then overlay the full project area & the asphalt pavement removal area. Both locations will require to be restriped (all parking stalls and crosshatch markings, some of which are no longer visible) to match the existing layout unless otherwise noted in the SOW.
