The Contractor will be subject to reimburse to the Owner Liquidated Damages of three hundred dollars ($350.00) per calendar day as stated in Section 8.4 of the General and Supplementary Conditions for each calendar day that completion is delayed beyond the adjusted Contract Time. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract sum in accordance with Section 11.4 of the General and Supplementary Conditions. Each Bid will be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond payable to Jeff Davis Parish Library in the amount of which shall be five percent (5%) of the proposed base Bid and all Alternates. Money orders shall not be accepted. This shall be given as guarantee that the Bidder will execute the Contract, if it is awarded to him, in conformity with the Contract Documents. If Bid Bond is used, it shall meet the requirements according to R.S. 38:2218. The form of this security shall be as stated in the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this Project. If the Bidder is notified of the acceptance of the Bid within forty-five (45) days of the opening of Bids, he agrees to execute a Contract for the Work accepted, in the Standard Form of AIA Contract Document A-101, within ten (10) days after receipt of written notice from the Owner that the instrument is ready for signature, and that he will complete the Work within one-hundred-eighty (180) calendar days following Notice to Proceed as stipulated in Section 8.2 of the General and Supplementary Conditions. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause.
