The work to be performed under this contract includes the following: Base Bid - The work to be performed under this contract includes the incorporation of proposed playground features and amenities into the existing embankment on the site, the creation of a more cohesive playground area to replace the current 'satellite' playground units, the upgrading of amenities to promote inclusivity and meet all ADA compliance standards, park design with consideration for future expansion directly adjacent to Mt. Pleasant Avenue, the installation of a resilient, ADA-compliant poured-in-place rubber safety surface for the playground, the construction of an ADA-compliant concrete sidewalk and stamped colored concrete sidewalk, and the construction of modular block retaining walls. Principal items of work in the project include: . 320 LF Decorative Aluminum Fence, 4' High . 215 LF Chain-link Fence, Black PVC Coated Steel, 4' High . 1,300 SF Modular Block Retaining Wall . 520 SY Concrete Sidewalk The work to be performed under this alternative includes the removal and disposal of existing playground equipment, site amenities, surfacing, and foundations by the contractor, as well as the furnishing and installation of Arborvitae Plantings. The work contemplated under this Contract shall be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the notice to proceed. Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including the non-collusion affidavit and ownership statement compliance form and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid and, not to exceed $20,000.00. Such checks and Bonds shall be made payable to the Owner and will be held as a Guarantee that in the event the Bid is accepted and a Contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract shall be duly executed and its performance properly secured. Printed copies of the plans, specification, and contract documents may be obtained upon request, in accordance with Boswell's applicable printing fees at the time of request. Bids must be accompanied, in the case of corporations not chartered in New Jersey, by proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. All corporations and partnerships and limited liability companies must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2, regarding disclosure of partners and stockholders. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder, addressed to the Owner and labeled for the DIANE GRIMES MEMORIAL PARK PLAYGROUND. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all provisions of prevailing wage rates as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor. Unless otherwise permitted by N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.3, all bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a period of sixty (60) days in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-24. The Owner and Bidder may agree to hold bids for consideration for a longer period of time, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-24. The Owner reserves the right to reject bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2, N.J.A.C. 7:22-9.10, or other applicable law; to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions in the bids received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder, as per N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-1, et seq.
