Reference Number 0000301172 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/09/05 02:00:00 PM EDT The purpose of this work is to provide the TBRHSC comprehensive Snow Clearing, Removal, Salt/Sand and Ice Removal Services. The Selected Proponent will provide all management, personnel, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to provide the requested services. Work under this Contract Shall include the supply of all labour, materials, including sanding and salting materials, equipment and services necessary to complete the work described below. A 24/7 hours plowing and shoveling operation is required to maintain optimum safety. The proponent must be capable of clearing snow/ice from all areas (sidewalks, roadways, parking lots) at the same time. Snow/Ice Monitoring, Clearing and Removal at all entrances, sidewalks, roadways, designated pathways, parking lots and helipad. When excess snow accumulates in parking lots and roadways, snow hauling is required. All excess snow is to be hauled to TBRHSC parking lot I, west end beside the Days Inn chain link fence. The Selected Proponent Must be able to build and maintain a very high hauled snow pile in the west end of parking lot I, with the use of an excavator (size 300 or larger). At the request of TBRHSC, the Selected Proponent may be requested to haul snow off-site. Proponents are asked to include optional pricing for hauling snow off-site. Selected Proponent is responsible to provide traffic control when hauling snow from roadways. Sand /Salt and Ice Removal at all entrances, sidewalks, roadways, designated pathways, parking lots and helipad. Snow removal services include, but are not limited to shovelling, snow plowing, removal and disposal of snow, removal of ice and ice build-up, sanding and salting as needed to maintain a safe, slip free, bare pavement/concrete as weather will permit, and ensuring proper and safe slip free access to the building and parking. "Note: where the term "sanding and salting" is used, it is meant to be taken as a generic term to represent examples of components suitable for the control of slippery conditions for both vehicles and pedestrians. Preference will be given to bidders who propose alternate, more environmentally friendly, but equally effective products to meet this required end results. The Selected Proponent will be required to supply and stock pile bulk sand/salt at TBRHSC in the designated area along the roadway between Lots B2 and Lot I. These areas are noted in Appendix F-TBRHSC Site Plan. The Selected Proponent will be expected to do a self-assessment of the site and mobilize automatically when there is snow and ice to be plowed and/or removed or icy/slippery conditions requiring salting/sanding. It will be expected, in the situation where there is continuous heavy snowfall, that continuous plowing will occur to maintain the minimum requirements as stated in this section.
