Qualified Contractors will provide all labor, supervision, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation and incidentals necessary to construct approximately 2300 linear foot of walking trail to expand the current walking trail around the New Housing Development site at 760 State Route 37, Akwesasne, NY, to include, but not be limited to cutting and clearing low branches, limbs, saplings, brush and trees of 6" caliper or less to facilitate construction of a 6-ft wide trail through a wooded area, all more particularly described in the Proposal Documents. The following preferences apply to this solicitation: Native Preference, Women Business Enterprises & Veteran with Disabilities Business Enterprises and Minority Business Enterprises and Veterans Business Enterprises. In accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's Native American Preference Policy, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe will give preference in the award of a Contract to approved Native American Owned Business/Company, as certified by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's Compliance Department. ANY PROPONENT CLAIMING NATIVE AMERICAN PREFERENCE MUST GIVE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THIS CLAIM WITH THEIR SUBMITTED PROPOSAL. The successful Proponent, as well astheir Sub-Contractors, will be required to complete a Native American Preference Employment Plan and Agreement, upon request. The work generally includes, but is not necessarily limited to cutting and clearing low branches, limbs, saplings, brush and trees of 6" caliper or less to facilitate construction of an extended 6-ft wide trail continuing through a wooded area. Excavation and placement of approximately 258 cubic yards of an owner furnished and delivered 7/8" minus stone material as a trail bedding and surface, 2,063 square yards of geotextile fabric, installation of 10 trail markers, construction of an observation structure approximately 6' in width and 20' in length, turf establishment and site restoration, and all more particularly detailed in the Drawings and Technical Specifications for this project.
