Renovation of a multi-residential development in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) is seeking a Vendor for the provision of Design Build - Central Steam Plant Boilers in Regent Park. The existing central steam plant provides critical heating and DHW services to buildings in Regent Park. As the plant is scheduled for decommissioning, TCHC is seeking a temporary boiler solution using gas-fired rental boiler units. This solution is expected to be in place for five years or more until the buildings between Sumach Street and River Street are demolished. The buildings in question that need an alternate heating arrangement but are currently serviced by the steam plant are more clearly identified in the plan below. These buildings are bounded by Sumach Street, River Street, Gerrard Street and Oak Street. The targeted occupancy of the buildings between Sumach Street and River Street will likely be 60-70 percent, which means that approximately 114 units could be occupied. The existing infrastructure from the steam plant, feeding the buildings between Sumach and River Street will be disconnected once the alternate heating arrangement is in place. However, the steam plant building per se, is proposed to be retained. Once the alternate heating arrangement for buildings between Sumach Street and River Street is commissioned, the steam plant infrastructure/piping installed between Sackville Street and Sumach Street will be disconnected, removed and disposed and the buildings between Sackville Street and Sumach Street will be demolished.
