Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Quincy, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Reclamation (full-depth), cold planing and surfacing of various roadways, including sidewalks and curbing. The City of Quincy, Massachusetts will accept sealed bids for the reclamation (full-depth), cold planing and surfacing of various roadways, including sidewalks and curbing. All work under this contract shall be substantially completed by December 1, 2026, and all work shall be ready for final payment by June 1, 2027. The estimated value of the contract is $9,526,154.00 The project construction contractor shall submit a forecast weekly traffic police detail schedule, at least 72 hours days priorto the start ofthe work. The schedule shall describe the nature and location of the work, the number of police personnel and the estimated number ofpolice hours required for each location. The Contractor must also include justification for each uniformed officer being requested. All payment to the police for work under this contract shall be in accordance with the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 34B, which states that reserve police officers shall receive the same prevailing wage rate as paid to regular police officers. The Contractor will furnish all labor, equipment and material. The Contractor is required to employ sufficient skilled, unskilled, and supervisory labor, and equipment as may be considered necessary by the DPW Commissioner or his Representative to permit or enable the Contractor to expeditiously execute the work at such a uniform rate of progress which will permit the completion of the work within the time limits which may be specified. The contractor shall make available the necessary equipment to complete maintenance or repair work on the City's infrastructure as directed and scheduled by the DPW Commissioner or his Representative may request a specific piece of equipment to complete a specific task or provide the scope of work to the contractor to complete the task. Concrete Finishing: The finishing of concrete surface shall be done by experienced and competent cement finishers approved by the Engineer. The concrete surface shall be struck off to the required elevation and cross section followed by the roller, leveled with a bull float or screed the minimum necessary to remove irregularities. No finishing operations should be performed while free water is present. Finishing operations will be delayed until all bleed water and water sheen has left the surface and the concrete has started to stiffen.
