Remodeling of a mixed-use development in Jackson, Michigan. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.

Anticipated Date for Board Approval - Tuesday, September 16, 2025 Project Completion - All work must be completed no later than December 19, 2025, but earlier is desired. Question Deadline 08/29/2025 at 4:00 PM ET No other interpretations of the meaning of this bid document will be made to any Bidder verbally. Every request for such interpretation shall be emailed to: Jackson County Intermediate School District Attn: Brad Hess, Assistant Director of Technology Email: jcisdrfp@jcisd.org Answers to such requests shall be posted to our website at online. The Jackson County Intermediate School District (JCISD) hereafter referred to as Customer, is accepting sealed proposals for an Audio-visual solution for the large professional development space, otherwise known as room 220, at their Kratz Education Center location. The customer is seeking to outfit the room with various equipment to facilitate large in person meetings. The proposed solution shall also accommodate remote meeting participants. The space is intended to facilitate meetings of up to 100 in person individuals. The Customer is in search of hardware as well as the installation and documentation of the work done. The proposed system should include the following specs: The Customer desires for the solution in this space to closely match another space that was recently installed. Deviation from the listed hardware is allowed, but the listed models are preferred unless they have been discontinued, superseded, or there is a superior solution. Please refer to the document labelled as "Kratz Education Center Rm 220 remodel - 1999 prints - w markers.pdf" The area in light red is the room that the proposed solution will be installed into. Technical questions with regard to this bid document must be submitted in writing. The Customer intends to award a contract to a qualified Bidder, provided the RFP has been submitted in accordance with the RFP Document requirements, and does not exceed the Customer's available funds. Prices quoted in the Vendor's response for all labor and materials will remain in effect for a period of at least one hundred and eighty (180) business days from the issuance date of the Vendor's response. Labor rates shall remain in effect for the length of the project. The Customer reserves the right to reject any and all quotes; to accept portions of bids and alternates in any order or combination; is not obligated to accept the lowest or any RFP; and may waive any informality or irregularity in submittal procedures. The Customer is in search of hardware as well as the installation and documentation of the work done. Display - Front of room _ At location 1, the Customer will be purchasing a Newline DV-18924-PLUS separately from this RFP. All hardware contained within the vendor bid must be compatible with this specific display wall. _ Location 2 is a mechanical room. Any necessary in wall enclosures or access panels may be located in this wall. _ Location 3 is a hallway. No in wall enclosures or access panels will be permitted within this wall unless they are located above the drop ceiling (8 ft). Presentation Display _ The Customer wishes for a presenter to be able to plug in a computer at the front of the room that allows them to see the content that is being displayed on the display wall while looking at the audience. Inputs _ The proposed solution shall allow for Windows, Apple, and Android/ChromeOS devices to wirelessly cast to the display wall. _ Casting hardware must be mounted in a location that is easily accessible. _ The display wall shall support two or more HDMI 2.1or newer inputs. The HDMI inputs shall terminate into a wall box. The final location is to be determined by the Customer point of contact for the project. Touchscreen Control _ At location 5, the Customer desires a Crestron TSW-1070-W-S touchscreen or better model. The final location is to be determined by the Customer point of contact for the project. Remote Participants _ At location 6, the customer desires a Vaddio RoboTRAK Presenter Tracking System and a RoboSHOT 30E or newer models. The final location is to be determined by the Customer point of contact for the project. _ The proposed solution shall also include any necessary hardware to facilitate remote participation in meetings from Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and Google Meet. If an audio, video and control system is to be part of the solution then a Q-SYS Core 8 Flex or better model is desired. _ The Bidder is requested to also include optional pricing for a camera or cameras that would be able to track and zoom into a speaker in the audience. Audio _ The proposed solution shall include an audio system with one lavalier microphone and one handheld microphone. _ The Shure QLXD124/85-G50 or better is desired. _ The solution shall also include a sufficient quantity of speakers in order for all attendees in the room to be able to hear the presenter. _ The existing speakers are noted on the document labelled as "Kratz Education Center Rm 220 remodel - 1999 prints - w speaker locations.pdf" _ The Vendor will be responsible for removal of the existing speakers and existing cabling. _ New speakers should be Crestron SAROS ICE8T-W-T-EACH+ or better. _ The Vendor will be responsible for placement of new ceiling tiles in any location where a speaker is no longer needed. _ The goal for the sound system is good coverage and the speakers do not necessarily need to be replaced one for one. _ Customer desires for the speakers to be ceiling mounted within the drop ceiling. Any other placement must be approved by the Customer point of contact. _ Audio amplifiers should be Crestron brand. _ Vendor will be responsible for removal of existing audio equipment located at location 4. _ All existing equipment is to be returned to the Customer. _ The room contains retractable wall sections. There is no desire to have the audio in the room zoned so that there can be separate audio in each of the spaces. Location of Transmitters and Receivers _ Location 4 represents the desired location of a wall mounted network switch cabinet. The Customer desires to have any HDMI Transmitters, Receivers, audio control system, or any other necessary Audio-Visual equipment to be located within a 36" deep, lockable cabinet. The cabinet is to be supplied and mounted by the Vendor. _ Should location 4 be deemed to not be feasible, then the final location is to be determined by the Customer point of contact for the project. _ HDR Receivers & Room controllers should be DM-RMC-4KZ-100-C or better. Other equipment _ AV source inputs Transmitters should consist of Crestron DM-TX-4KZ-100-C-1G-W-T or better. _ AV source input receivers should consist of Crestron DM-RMC-4K-100-C-1G-W-T or better. _ USB extension hardware should consist of Crestron USB-EXT-2-LOCAL-1G-W and USB-EXT-2-REMOTE or better. _ Matrix switchers should be Crestron branded. _ Digital media switchers should be Crestron branded. _ Digital media power supplies should be Crestron branded. _ The control system should be a Creston CP4 or better. _ Network switches shall be Cisco Catalyst class switches. The Vendor shall be responsible for all necessary structured cabling. _ The Vendor shall be responsible for cabling between the existing IDF, location 7, and the new cabinet, location 4. _ All cable shall be Cat6a or better. _ Any cabling contained within the drop ceiling shall be plenum rated. _ Short 6a patch cables of the appropriate color shall be provided to plug into each end. _ Any network cables shall be terminated on a patch panel consisting of the appropriately colored keystones. _ All cable shall have a label wrapped on each end of the cable in the format of --. _ All cable shall have a label at both the wall plate and the patch panel in the format of --. _ The Bidder will be responsible for installing their own pathway in any case where it is deemed necessary and is not already noted on the prints. The pathway needs to be self-supported and follow all applicable codes for the area. _ Penetrations shall be sleeved and fire stopped. _ Any pathway used by the Bidder must not exceed 70% or max fill on any of the enclosed codes or standards whichever is least, on any conduits regardless if it is vendor installed or using something that is already in place. _ Any permits that are required for this project must be pulled by the Vendor. It is the responsibility of the vendor to pull the permits, as well as ensuring that any required inspections are done in a timely fashion.
