Amtrak is accepting Letters of Interest for Construction Services in support of the Earth Retention System. Amtrak, at its sole discretion and without discussion, will determine which Contractors are to be added to its short list for the forthcoming Invitation to Bid (IFB). Design and Construction of a new earth retention system in the northeast quadrant of the Amtrak railroad bridge over Metarie Rd/City Park Ave to stabilize the track embankment and prevent the ballast from future loss. Additional work tasks include but are not limited to the following: a. Excavation of existing railroad embankment to construct the new earth retention system. b. Backfill behind new earth retention system. c. Installation of erosion control system. d. Maintenance of traffic. e. Remove and re-erect security fence. f. Install and remove temporary fence. g. Design and construction of temporary earth retention system, if required. Qualifications: Min. 5 years' experience with similar work. Experience working around railroad operations. Dedicated project management staff. Submission: Cover page addressing the above qualifications including the attached Pre-Qualification package.
