Renovation of a laboratory facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
The Applied and Computational Mathematics Division (ACMD) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires the replacement of a non-functional Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system in its computer server room. The contractor shall remove the existing UPS and install a new 208 VAC, 15KVA UPS within a standard server rack, including all necessary electrical infrastructure to ensure reliable power distribution to division servers. The scope includes supplying and installing overhead power connectivity, UPS-to-rack power distribution, and a basket tray. All equipment must be new, not used, remanufactured, experimental, or gray market. Deliverables include a fully installed and operational UPS system, verified 208 VAC/100-amp service connection, completed wiring connections, installed basket tray, deployed electrical connectivity for server racks, and as-built documentation and schematics. Installation must be completed within 30 days from the award date, subject to material lead times and site access coordination. Delivery is F.O.B. Destination, and the contractor must confirm with the designated government official before any shipment. No training is required. Inspection and acceptance will include performance tests to verify UPS functionality, and visual inspection for damage. Ownership transfers to NIST upon acceptance. The contractor must provide a minimum one-year warranty on installation and workmanship and transfer all manufacturer warranties to NIST. Payment will be made upon full installation, successful testing and demonstration, and receipt of a proper invoice. Safety and security regulations must be followed, including identification badge requirements and vehicle registration for campus access. The Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) currently has a non-functional Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system located within the Applied and Computational Mathematics Division (ACM). The non functional UPS and electrical supply issues pose multiple hazards including electrical shock, fire, and power surge risk capable of destroying NIST IT. Therefore, it is critical to eliminate these hazards with a UPS replacement. Purpose/Objective: The purpose of this requirement is to replace a non-functional UPS system and install a new 208 VAC, 15KVA UPS within a standard server rack. This work includes all necessary electrical infrastructure to support the new UPS and to ensure reliable power distribution to division servers. II. SCOPE The Contractor shall deliver all items as described below and shall perform the following services: _ Removal and disconnection of existing UPS. _ Supply and installation of new UPS, overhead power connectivity, UPS-to-rack power distribution, and basket tray. The place of performance shall be in the Computer Server Room for the Applied and Computational Mathematics Division (Div 771), Building 225, Room A119-1, NIST Gaithersburg, Maryland 20899. Offerors must submit all questions concerning this solicitation in writing electronically to Jennifer Lohmeier at Jennifer.lohmeier@nist.gov. Questions must be received by or before August 28, 2025, at 10:00AM ET.
