Reference Number 0000301492 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/09/05 03:00:00 PM EDT Bid Intent Deadline 9/12/25 2:00 PM EST/EDT Contract Award Date September 19, 2025 The intent of this project is to enhance supply and install an extension of perimeter fencing at the West 40 Landfill. The total fence extension length is approximately 120 meters. The Contractor is responsible for supplying all labour, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the installation to the standards outlined in the tender document. 2.1 Fence Posts Line Posts: 70 mm outside diameter, hot-dip galvanized steel, Schedule 40, with a minimum coating of 550 g/m. Terminal Posts: 90 mm outside diameter, hot-dip galvanized steel, Schedule 40, with a minimum coating of 550 g/m. 2.2 Horizontal Rails 40 mm outside diameter, hot-dip galvanized steel, Schedule 40, with a minimum coating of 550 g/m. Rails shall be continuous between posts with proper couplings. 2.3 Mesh Wire (fabric) Height: 2.0 m from finished ground level to top of fabric. Mesh: Galvanized steel wire, hot-dip galvanized to 490 g/m. 2.4 Anchoring Materials All posts shall be installed by core drilling. Embedment depth: 1.0 m below ground level. Anchoring grout: Non-shrink epoxy or high-strength grout ensuring full bond between post and rock. 2.5 Fittings and Fasteners All fittings, tie wires, and hardware shall be hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel, suitable for arctic/cold- weather service 3.1 Rails and Bracing Top rails shall be installed continuously between all posts and securely fastened. Bracing (horizontal rails and truss rods) shall be installed from each end and terminal post to the adjacent line post. 3.2 Mesh Installation Mesh shall be stretched tightly to manufacturer's recommended tension. Fastened to end, corner, and straining posts with tension bars and bands. Secured to line posts, top rails, and bottom tension wire with tie wires. Ensure uniform mesh tension and secure attachment to all posts using industry-standard methods Bottom tension wire to be installed 30mm to 50 mm above grade for uniform clearance 3.3 Erection of Fence Erect fence as indicated CAN/CGSB-138.3 (Canadian General Standards Board). Excavate post holes to dimensions indicated. Space line posts 3 m apart, measured parallel to ground surface. Install additional straining posts at sharp changes in grade or direction.
