Cobb County Water System is issuing this Solicitation for Request for Qualifications for Prequalification of New Contractors for Water and Sewer Line Construction, Manhole & Valve Box Adjustments, Cured-in-Place (CIPP) Rehabiliation, Manhole Rehabilitation, and Stormwater Construction. Question Submission Deadline: May 24, 2028, 5:00pm Bids are accepted by the Cobb County Water System (CCWS) for most water and sewer line installation projects only from contractors who have been prequalified for such work by the CCWS. The Cobb County Policy for Pre-qualification of Contractors requires development of the Contractor Prequalification Lists for all County agencies every two years. Contractors who wish to be considered for inclusion on the CCWS List of Prequalified Contractors must complete and submit an Application for Prequalification of Contractors (First-Time Applicants). This application process must be followed even if the firm has been previously prequalified by the CCWS for a specific project, such as a pump station or treatment plant project. Any firm that does not respond to the advertised "Request for Applications for Prequalification of Contractors" for evaluation or submits an application after the advertised deadline will not be considered for inclusion in the new List during the biennial evaluation process. Such firms will be required to conform to the prequalification application procedures for first-time applicants for consideration during a subsequent quarterly review period. The following instructions must be used when completing the Cobb County Water System (CCWS) Application for Prequalification of Contractors (First-Time Applicants). The information requested must be furnished to CCWS in order for your firm to be considered for inclusion on the List. All information submitted for the prequalification process shall become the property of the Cobb County Water System. To the extent allowed by law, financial information will be considered confidential by the Cobb County Water System. The CCWS reserves the right, but does not have the obligation, to request the submittal of additional information. If you do not currently have an established Vendor number with Cobb County, you must go to the Procurement Services Website and follow the directions for Vendor Registration. The Applicant is advised that applications are reviewed by the CCWS upon receipt; however, additions to the List of Prequalified Contractors are made by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners only on a quarterly basis. When prequalification is required, contractors must be prequalified before the first advertisement of a particular project to be eligible to submit a bid on that project.
