The City of Waynesboro is proposing to perform major upgrades of the equipment in the main treatment system of the existing plant, including the headworks along with major equipment upgrades in the sludge handling train. They are not proposing any expansion of the treatment plant in terms of the design compacity or the biological treatment capacity. There will also be a new generator installed to provide emergency backup power to the entire treatment facility. Due to the long lead time of the equipment, some of the equipment has been pre-purchased and is stored at the treatment facility. The City of Waynesboro reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any technicalities or irregularities, and to award the bid based on the highest and best interest of the City of Waynesboro .
