Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Preston, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and water / sewer project.

**As of October 10, 2025, the project was awarded to Suchocki and Son but the awarded amount is not available.** Town of Preston, Connecticut, is soliciting sealed bids for completing improvements to their Municipal Transfer Station located at 108 Ross Road. This project generally consists of the partial reconstruction of an existing municipal transfer station. Improvements will include a new canopy, precast retaining wall with railings, concrete pads for dumpsters, waste collection hoppers, expansion of paved access drives and drainage improvements. Demolition of the existing transfer station while maintaining operations for Town residents will need to be completed, which will include removal of existing walls, concrete pads, scale, and scale house and possible removal of material from existing landfill for wall installation. Question Deadline 09/24/2025 Any request from a prospective Bidder for interpretation of meaning of Contract Drawings, Specifications or other Contract Documents shall be made in writing to the office of Barton and Loguidice, LLC. 855 Winding Brook Drive. Glastonbury, CT 06033 and to be given consideration must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for opening of proposals. Such requests may be sent to Barton and Loguidice, LLC via e-mail to kgrindle@bartonandloguidice.com. A satisfactory Bid Bond or Certified Check, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid, shall be submitted with each bid. The Bid Bond shall be made payable to Town of Preston and shall be properly executed by the Bidder and acceptable sureties. All bonds must be from sureties registered in the State of Connecticut. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of Bid opening. The Town of Preston reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, bids or proposals; to waive any technicality in any bid or part thereof, and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Preston. The contractor who is selected to perform this State project must comply with CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60, 4a-60a, 4a-60g, and 46a-68b through 46a68f, inclusive, as amended by June 2015 Special Session Public Act 15-5. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g. (25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Small Businesses and 6.25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabledowned Businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. This contract is subject to Connecticut Prevailing Wages pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. 31-53, et seq. A 100% Labor and Materials Payment Bond and 100% Performance Bond is required. The Town of Preston is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
