**As of October 10, 2025, the project was awarded to Suchocki and Son but the awarded amount is not available.** Town of Preston, Connecticut, is soliciting sealed bids for completing improvements to their Municipal Transfer Station located at 108 Ross Road. This project generally consists of the partial reconstruction of an existing municipal transfer station. Improvements will include a new canopy, precast retaining wall with railings, concrete pads for dumpsters, waste collection hoppers, expansion of paved access drives and drainage improvements. Demolition of the existing transfer station while maintaining operations for Town residents will need to be completed, which will include removal of existing walls, concrete pads, scale, and scale house and possible removal of material from existing landfill for wall installation. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of Bid opening. The contractor who is selected to perform this State project must comply with CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60, 4a-60a, 4a-60g, and 46a-68b through 46a68f, inclusive, as amended by June 2015 Special Session Public Act 15-5. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g. (25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Small Businesses and 6.25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabledowned Businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. This contract is subject to Connecticut Prevailing Wages pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. 31-53, et seq.
