This project involves the full removal of the causeway connecting Bateman Island to the mainland near Yakima Delta in Richland, Washington. Construction activities include removal of causeway material, selective demolition and removal of existing features, earthwork, concrete work, vegetation clearing, and in-water work necessary to restore the aquatic habitat. Earthwork will be performed to grade, stabilize, and install material along the shoreline. The project requires avoidance of Bateman Island to minimize impacts to culturally sensitive areas. Approximately 30,000 cubic yards of material will be hauled offsite to an approved disposal site located within 10 miles of the construction area. Location: Yakima Delta, near Bateman Island, Richland, WA 99352, United States.
