Questions concerning the detailed specifications should be directed to Lyndon Cook. The City of Ames is seeking to purchase single and three phase pad mounted transformers. All responses must be submitted before the deadline. No late responses will be reviewed. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City. This section is not required for this bid. Each vendor may submit a bid for more than one manufacturer. Price will be evaluated using the estimated order quantities from the Bid Form. Delivery time will be a key factor or sole factor in determining all or part of the award of bid. Award of this contract may be determined not by lowest evaluated cost, but by delivery time, or a combination of price and delivery time. Bids will be evaluated by item on the basis of losses as shown below and contract award quantities, with consideration for delivery times and/or the costs of administration of multiple contracts. All bidders shall submit with their bids the no load loss (N.L.) and load losses @ 100% nameplate load (L.L.) in kilowatts at 85 degrees C. The following loss evaluation formulae will be used for all transformers: Purchase Cost + $6.00 per Watt x No-Load Loss Watts (N.L. Watts) + $2.00 per Watt x Load-Loss Watts (L.L. Watts)
