Summary The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the construction of the Broad Rock Blvd @ Orcutt Lane Traffic Signal project which will include, but many not be limited to, installation of traffic signal poles, conduits, junction boxes, wireless communication, traffic signal heads, pedestrian signal indicators (countdown), signage, sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, pavement markings, and other traffic-related equipment. Background The City of Richmond's Department of Public Works Transportation Engineering Division (TED) operates and maintains 487 traffic signalized intersections. As part of the City's ongoing efforts to improve traffic operations and safety, funding has been secured for the installation of a new traffic signal at an unsignalized intersection where a signal warrant analysis determined that a traffic signal is justified. The Broad Rock Blvd @ Orcutt Lane Traffic Signal Project was initiated by the City of Richmond's Department of Public Works to address safety and traffic flow concerns at an unsignalized intersection where a signal warrant analysis confirmed the need for a traffic signal. The project will install a new traffic signal and associated pedestrian and accessibility improvements to enhance safety, reduce delays, and improve overall traffic operations at this location. Construction includes, but is not limited to, the following work: A. Installation of signalization system. B. Installation of new concrete curb, sidewalks, curb ramps, and pedestrian signals. C. Installation of new ADA-accessible curb ramps. D. Installation of traffic signs, markings, and crosswalks. E. Installation of landscaping. F. Installation of a median. G. Installation of storm water drainage. H. Installation of water distribution. I. Excavation and removal of existing concrete, earth, pavement, and other items. J. Construction of asphalt pavement and speed tables. K. Erosion and sediment control, including topsoil and permanent seeding. L. Detours and maintenance of traffic. M. Mobilization. N. Any other miscellaneous work as directed by the engineer The period of performance for the project shall be 180 consecutive calendar days for substantial completion and 210 consecutive calendar days for final completion from the Notice to Proceed.
