Asbestos abatement and renovation of an educational facility in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Addendum #1-#3 have been issued as of 9-18-2025. The Party of the First Part shall furnish and deliver all of the materials, and perform all of the work in the manner and form as provided by the following enumerated plans, specifications and documents, which are attached hereto and made a part thereof as if fully contained herein: advertisement; Instructions to Bidders; General Conditions; Supplementary General Conditions; specifications; accepted proposal; contract; performance bond; payment bond; power of attorney; workmen's compensation; public liability; property damage and builder's risk insurance certificates; approval of attorney general; certificate by the Office of State Budget and Management, and drawings, titled: The scope of work for this project shall be performed by the asbestos abatement contractor and will include the removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and universal waste to facilitate renovation of the Black Box Theater and office conversion to a restroom in accordance with the provisions of this project manual and regulatory requirements. The work shall be performed in a manner to maintain worker exposures below permissible exposure limits and to prevent the release of hazardous materials into adjacent areas or into the environment. Personnel shall receive 40 hours of Hazardous Waste Operations Training to perform work related to universal waste and be appropriately accredited for asbestos abatement. The removal and/or disturbance of the ACMS listed in the table below shall be the responsibility of the awarded abatement contractor. The floor tile and mastic can be removed utilizing friable removal techniques which will require a 10- working day notification must be submitted to the State of North Carolina Health Hazard Control Unit (NC-HHCU). September 17, 2025 Last day for questions from bidders at noon.
