Site work and paving for a civil project in Watford City, North Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.
The project consists of embedding two existing reinforced concrete box culverts, installing one new corrugated steel arch pipe culvert, and placing new fill and rip rap at the upstream and downstream ends of two existing culvert crossings and one new culvert crossing. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: REMOVALS, COMMON EXCAVATION, EROSION CONTROL, CONCRETE CUTOFF WALLS, EMBEDMENT OF TWO EXISTING REINFORCED CONCRETE BOX CULVERTS WITH SAND AND GROUTED RIP RAP OR WITH FLOWABLE FILL AND FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE, CSP ARCH PIPE INSTALLATION, RIP RAP ARMORING, ROAD RESTORATION, FENCING REMOVAL AND RESTORATION, TEMPORARY COFFER DAM AND STREAM DIVERSION, MOBILIZATION, TRAFFIC CONTROL, and other items, plus incidentals, as fully described in the bid documents and construction drawings. Questions during bidding should be directed to the Design Engineer, Jesse G. Kist, PE (AE2S) at (701) 221-0530. Each bid will be submitted on the basis of a cash payment for work. The bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond and North Dakota Contractors licenses in a separate envelope. The Bid Bond shall be in the amount of five percent (5%) of the full amount of the bid, executed by the Bidder as Principal and by a Surety Company authorized to do business in ND as required by Section 48-01.2-5. If the Principal's bid is accepted by McKenzie County and the contract is awarded, the Principal, within 10 days after the Notice of Award, will be required to execute and affect a contract in accordance with the terms of the Principal's bid and any requirements and conditions of the McKenzie County Board of Commissioners. If a successful bidder does not execute a contract within ten days, the bidder's bond must be forfeited to McKenzie County and the project will be awarded to the next lowest acceptable bidder. Only electronic plan holders downloaded via online will receive addendum notifications. Contractors using any other means for obtaining plans and specifications must periodically check the online website for any addenda. An optional paper set of project documents is also available for a non-refundable price of $100 per set at AE2S (701.221.0530), 1815 Schafer Street, Bismarck, ND 58501. McKenzie County reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted and to hold all bids for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from said date of opening and to hold the three low bids and bid securities for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from said date of bid opening.
