Dib P.E at Email: adib@dearbornheightsmui.gov Purchasing Contact: Nehme Nehmi, Buyer at (313) 495-3982 Email: nnehmi@dearbornheightsmi.gov The following is a brief project overview and is not meant to describe the compete scope of the project. The scope of work is broken up into two separate components identified as Work Part 'A' and Work Part 'B'. Work Part 'A' involves the renovation of the existing dispatch center. The main space occupies approximately 960 sq. ft. of area. All of the finishes within the space are to be replaced including the entire acoustic lay in ceiling. The floor will receive new LVT and modular carpet and the walls new paint. In addition, a new 70 sq. ft. entrance/exit vestibule is to be constructed for use exclusively by the dispatch staff. This includes a small concrete patio area immediately in front of the vestibule. Demolition will be limited to removing a couple of panes of existing glass and a short section of existing exterior wall. New lighting will be provided throughout and the existing environmental system will be supplemented with independent AC units specific to the dispatch and ancillary small server room. Some electrical rework will be required as well as provisions for separate dedicated emergency power circuits. The Work Part 'B' scope involves converting three existing rooms into a dedicated auxiliary broadcast studio suite. Included are the studio and control room, a communications director's office and a private restroom. The studio will occupy what is currently a small garage. The director's office is a repurposed storage room and the private restroom a converted janitor's closet. The studio environment will be acoustically isolated from the remainder of the building by virtue of different types of sound attenuating assemblies and acoustically sealed doors. Very minimal demolition will be required to perform the work. Modifications will be made to the existing HVAC system to serve the new spaces. As part of the comprehensive renovation of the Police Dispatch Center, The scope of this project includes only the mechanical (HVAC) as well as the civil works but not the actual Dispatch workstations. Key upgrades HVAC and a new exterior vestibule as shown in the project documents.
