Description

Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Youngstown, Ohio. Completed plans call for the demolition of a parking garage; for site work for a parking garage; for the construction of a municipal facility; and 70,000-square-foot, four-story above grade parking garage.

This work consists of all labor, materials, tools and equipment required for setting-up general plant, storage/staging areas and facilities required by State Laws and City Ordinances; and the general mobilization of equipment required for the completion of the work shown on the Contract Documents. The cost of this item shall include all permits and fees required to perform the project, unless otherwise noted in the Contract Documents, and all expenses for the de-mobilization after the work has been completed. Other than a building permit, the contractor will be responsible to obtain the necessary permits to perform the work. This work shall also include the following items Reviewing existing utility layout and existing conditions, as shown on the drawings. Protection existing utilities in order to perform work, as noted on the drawings and the specifications. Provide effective system or method for controlling all dust and hazardous fumes generated from the concrete demolition. Electricity (power) and water required for the completion of the work will not be furnished by the Owner. All costs associated with power and water are at the contractor's expense. Any costs associated with power/water must be included in the contractor's bid. Former Egcc Parking Garage Demolition Project Consists of the Demolition of a 4-story Parking Garage, Sitting on a 70,000 Sf Footprint, Occupying a City Block in Downtown Youngstown. A Bid Guaranty is Required Per Ohio Revised Code (Orc) 153.54, Either Certified Check Representing Five Percent (5%) of the Proposal, Drawn on a Solvent Bank, and Payable to Western Reserve Port Authority, or a Bid Bond in the Sum of Ten Percent (5%) of the Proposal in Lieu Thereof Must Accompany Each Proposal as a Guarantee That if the Bid is Accepted, a Contract Will Be Entered Into With the Western Reserve Port Authority, in the Manner Provided by Law. Per Orc 153.571, a Performance/Payment Bond in the Amount of 100% of the Contract Price Will Be Required After the Award of the Contract. Bids of Corporations Not Chartered in Ohio Must Be Accompanied by Proper Certifications That Such Corporation is Licensed to Do Business in Ohio. The Contractor and All Subcontractors for This Project Must Be Enrolled in the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Drug Free Workplace Program or in a Similar Program Approved by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation. The Contractor and Their Subcontractors Shall Comply With the Appropriate Minimum Prevailing Wages Set Forth by the Federal Davis-bacon Industrial Wage Division. Each Bidder Must Ensure That All Employees and Applicants for Employment Are Not Discriminated Against Because of Race, Color, Sex or National Origin. The Western Reserve Port Authority Shall Reserve the Right to Reject Any or All Bids and to Waive Informalities.
