Renovation of a medical facility in Martinez, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The project includes elevator modernization and refurbishments to all six (6) elevatorsfor the main hospital building including all related work including but not limited to electrical, HVAC, fire alarm and fire sprinkler. The work will be phased so only one elevator is out of service at any point in time. All Deferred Approvals, including engineering / design and submission to HCAi, for items such as Elevators (if required), Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinklers will be required under this contract.Maintenance of all six elevators during construction is also part of this contract. Shipping charges are extra, depending on the delivery method. The Capital Projects Management Division does not guarantee the arrival of the drawings and specifications in time for bidding. No partial sets will be issued. There are no assurances to bidders who acquire bid documents from sources other than directly from the Contra Costa County Public Works Department's Online that they will receive all the project bid documents (including addenda). Electronic drawings and specifications for this project are ONLY available to plan holders who have purchased a hard copy set of the plans and specifications. Technical questions regarding the contract documents should be directed in writing to the Capital Projects Management Division at Susan.Richardson@pw.cccounty.us All questions must be received no later than 3:30PM on September 24, 2025. Each bid shall be made on the bid form issued with the specifications and must be accompanied by bid security in the form of cash, a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of the ten percent (10%) of the base bid amount, made payable to "The County of Contra Costa". The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price, said bonds to be secured from an admitted surety insurer authorized by the Insurance Commissioner to transact business of insurance in the State of California. Each bond shall be issued on the form set forth in the specifications. The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors encourages opportunities to develop and support Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), Women Business Enterprises (WBEs), Small Business Enterprises (SBEs), Local Business Enterprises (LBEs), and Disabled Veterans Business Enterprises (DVBEs) by providing opportunities for participation in the performance of construction contracts financed in whole or in part with County funds. MBE, WBE, SBE, LBE, and DVBE definitions and detailed information are included in Division E of the Specifications. The said Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any portion of any bid and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date set for opening thereof.
