Reference Number 0000397639 Project Code: 20980 - COMBO This is a request for non-mandatory Letters of Interest from contractors interested in receiving further information regarding the Elmore project. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Region 5 is soliciting Non-Mandatory Letters of Interest (LOI) from companies or teams interested in providing Design-Build (D-B) Services to widen US 160 from Elmore's Corner (SH 172) to Dry Creek (west of County Road (CR) 223), east of Durango, Colorado. The purpose of this project is to widen US 160 from Elmore's Corner to CR225, expanding the roadway to four lanes with a center two-way left turn lane and widened shoulders. The project includes safety improvements at the CR225 intersection to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents. From CR225 to Dry Creek, the project scope includes construction of at least one mile of passing lane in each direction and widened shoulders. Additional major elements include two large mammal underpasses and the replacement of the Florida River Bridge. The work will establish new US 160 typical sections and all associated improvements required to deliver a fully functioning and resilient facility. CDOT has executed an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the corridor and a reevaluation for the interim improvement of the corridor has been approved.
