The project includes the replacement of 2 non potable service water pumps, original to the plant and installed in 1985. The project funds engineering for pump replacement design and installation of new pumping system. M/WBE's are encouraged to participate in the bid process. The OWNER is replacing the existing plant water system at the wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) due to the existing pumps and hydropneumatic tank having reached the end oftheir useful life. The OWNER wishes to install one (1) new skid mounted plant water pumping system with a local control panel, diaphragm tank, and duplex strainer. The Base Bid project includes the following: o Demolition oftwo (2) existing pumps and appurtenances. o Demolition oftwo (2) existing filters and appurtenances. o Demolition of one (1) hydropneumatic tank and appurtenances. o Installation of new suction and discharge piping, fittings, and valves. o Installation of one (1) new skid mounted pumping system including four (4) new pumps and one (1) control panel. o Installation of one (1) new duplex strainer on the suction piping. o Installation of one (1) new 180 gal diaphragm tank on the discharge piping. o Painting of all existing and new service water piping in the room and all existing RV waste discharge piping in the room. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and materials necessary to furnish, install, and construct: 1. Under Base Bid - New Plant Water System, work shall include, but not be limited to: a. Demolition of two (2) existing end-suction style plant water pumps and concrete pads in the Septage Building. Demolition of two (2) existing filters and concrete support piers in the Septage Building. Demolition of one (1) existing 3700 gal hydropneumatic tank and concrete support piers in the Septage Building. Demolition of existing service water suction and discharge piping, fittings, and valves in the Septage Building as shown in the Contract Drawings. Installation of one (1) new plant water pump skid with four (4) pumps and one (1) control panel in the Septage Building as shown in the Contract Drawings. Installation of one (1) new duplex strainer in the new suction piping in the Septage Building as shown in the Contract Drawings. Installation of one (1) new 180 gal diaphragm tank with 1 'A" piping in the new discharge piping in the Septage Building as shown in the Contract Drawings. Installation of new plant water suction and discharge piping, fittings, and valves in the Septage Building as shown in the Contract Drawings. Painting of all new piping, fittings, and valves as shown in the Contract Drawings. Painting of all piping, fittings, and valves to remain labeled as "Service Water" to match the new piping, fittings, and valves as shown in the Contract Drawings. Painting of existing RV Waste discharge piping labeled "C12SC" to match the suction piping, fittings, and valves as shown in the Contract Drawings. Contractor shall note the discharge piping to be painted is 4" and is at a higher elevation than the 6" suction piping. B. In addition, this Contract shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. All demolition, bulk heading, bypass pumping, and all other construction activities necessary to provide a complete and fully operational system to meet the intent ofthe construction Drawings and Project Manual
