Estimated Length of Project: (Substantial Completion) + 180 Calendar Days (Final Completion) This site located in Perry County near the community of Buckhorn has a 2.4 acre slide that has left the permitted area and is impacting the stream below. Additionally, major erosion has taken place within the roads and drainage ditches to the point of failure limiting access to the site. Reclamation efforts proposed are to remove material from the upper slide area and place in a waste area. The remaining slide area will be regraded in place to promote positive drainage and direct runoff to the stream below. The access road will be graded up to the slide area and then rebuilt across the slide area. Drainage ditches along the road and other disturbed areas will be constructed to provide positive drainage. All disturbed areas to include slide and waste area will be revegetated to protect from further erosion. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business by the Kentucky Secretary of State and the Kentucky Department of Insurance within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. All procurement questions shall be directed to buyer of record for this project.
