A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Shaver Street Paving & Drainage Improvements Phase II The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive formalities. Project Scope: Work of the contract is for the reconstruction of approximately 3,200 linear feet of pavement along Shaver Street from Allendale Road to the Vince Bayou Bridge (CIP #S131). Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Removal of existing street pavement, driveways, RCP storm trunk line, storm inlets, and water distribution and service lines. 2. Installation of new reinforced 44-foot, 46-foot, 55-foot, or 66-foot face-to-face concrete pavement with 6-inch curbs and 5-foot sidewalks on each side of the (typical) 80-foot right-of-way. 3. Mill & overlay of 4" HMAC for existing bridge surface over Vince Bayou. 4. Bridge sidewalk repairs including replacing the existing handrails on both sides of bridge, and concrete crack repairs along surface of existing sidewalks. 5. Vince Bayou channel repairs including patch work of spalled concrete on existing columns, filling holes in abutments with flowable fill, and replacing riprap to its original state around existing columns for scouring protection. 6. Installation of a new single-slope concrete barrier adjacent to Vince Bayou where the shared-use path meets Shaver Street. 7. Installation of new 10-foot shared-use path from the Vince Bayou Bridge to Fresa Road with a portion poured using integral color concrete. 8. Installation of integral color reinforced concrete pavement with a stamped brick pattern in the intersection at the shared-use path crossing. 9. Contractor shall provide three 4'x4' (or larger) sample pours of integral colored concrete of pigments requested by the City or the engineer for their decision on the specific pigment to be installed along a portion of the shared use path and its crossing of Shaver Street. 10. Installation of new pavement markings, signage, and pedestrian signals. 11. Installation of new mast arms, traffic signals, and control cabinets as specified in the plans. 12. Installation of new concrete driveways to replace existing driveways, as depicted in the plans. This includes driveway installation past the right-of-way and coordination with the property owner for necessary driveway extensions to meet grade requirements. Contractor shall maintain access to homes and businesses that have sole access from Shaver Street, at all times. 13. Installation of new storm sewer pipes, manholes, and inlets. 14. TV inspection of the existing storm sewer system that is called in the plans "to remain" for the City of Pasadena and the Engineer to determine whether repair or replacement of existing-to-remain storm sewer is needed. 15. TV inspection of the existing sanitary system to identify required locations for point repairs and perform said repairs. Pipe-bursting or open-cut replacement for segments of the sanitary sewer line will be performed at the city's and the engineer's direction. 16. Tie-ins of the existing storm system to remain with the proposed junctions and inlets. 17. Water line vertical offset at conflict locations with the proposed storm sewer. 18. Installation of new underground PVC water distribution lines, services, and appurtenances. 19. Replacement of existing and installation of new fire hydrant assemblies including tiein to the proposed water distribution line. 20. Abandonment-in-place and filling with flowable fill of the existing water distribution lines. 21. Stormwater pollution prevention, tree protection, and traffic control in relation to project construction. 22. Maintaining the conveyance capacity of the stormwater system during the demolition and replacement of the existing storm system. 23. Tree planting and 2-year maintenance, extra pavement reinforcement at tree locations, and installation of a linear root barrier. Coordinate with the City of Pasadena and the Engineer prior to performing any work related to the proposed tree planting to confirm this portion of the project. 24. Site Restoration, including but not limited to; fill, sodding, and replacement of landscaping. 25. Misc. work at the direction of the City or Engineer.
