Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Buffalo, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 28,800-square-foot elderly care / assisted living facility.
The Project renovates the entire Ground Floor of Cary Hall (28,800 GSF) to create a Nursing Simulation Center in advance of a future comprehensive renovation project to Cary Hall's exterior and remaining upper floors. Cary Hall is a 125,923 GSF, four-story concrete frame building, constructed in 1959 for medical instruction. Cary Hall is part of the Health Sciences Complex at U.B.s South Campus and abuts the Biomedical Education Building to the north and west. Question Deadline 09/24/2025 at 11:00 AM ET Questions regarding this opportunity should only be emailed to SUCF.ConsultantProcurement@suny.edu The project scope consists of interior demolition and reconstruction, including new layout, finishes and fixtures to create a nursing simulation center and related support spaces. Also included are replacement of windows & exterior doors at the ground floor level, as well as mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and fire protection systems within the space. Replacement MEP systems will rely on existing building-wide utilities for support, prior to renovations of the rest of the building and other work related to implementation of the University's Clean Energy Master Plan. The project will accommodate and support specialized nursing simulation equipment, including patient simulator mannequins, an 'immersion' suite with floor to ceiling displays, large scale holographic displays and 3-D imaging equipment. The project will construct a full height exit stair tower at the southeast corner of the building, and renovate for new restrooms above on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors to align utilities and minimize disruption from later renovations. The project includes abatement of hazardous materials and accessibility improvements. SUCF is seeking renovations designed for high dollar value, ease and speed of construction, as well as for durability and maintainability. all inquiries regarding this procurement can only be made to: Samantha Lord Nora Kanarkiewicz Jeremy Clausi Kelly Whitbeck Scott Clay, Joanne Lovelady and/or Joseph Francis (M/WBE SDVOB Issues Only) Any questions regarding this procurement should be emailed to: SUCF.ConsultantProcurement@suny.edu.
