The demolition will include the standard removal, hauling and disposal of all structures, appurtenant structures, and associated buildings and/or sheds, driveways, fences, decks, retaining walls, all concrete foundations and slabs, trees as needed, and other debris associated with the demolition, installation of soil erosion and sediment control practices, disconnection of water service at shut off (b-box), and sanitary sewer service at property line, and all necessary removal of all utilities, incidental brush and tree cleaning and removal, and other items as defined and described in these bid documents. VOFL is seeking a general contractor to provide demolition services and restore each site for open space use. The scope of work will include removal of all materials, demolition of all structures, outbuildings, and foundations, disconnection of utilities, disconnection ofsewer and/or capping of water well, disconnection ofsewer and/orseptic removal, finish grading, and final seed and blanket. Removal of the structures and all items internal to them shall be considered part of the whole and complete scope of this project. This Request for Proposals(RFP) isissued forthe purpose of establishing on behalf of the Village of Fox Lake (Village) a contract, should the Village Board so authorize, with a qualified contractor to provide the services necessary to demo and restore the site The restoration will include site grading to match adjacent grades and to achieve positive drainage, including placement of uncontaminated soil fill where necessary, topsoil placement and seeding, and placement of erosion control blanket. The work includes the carrying out of all duties and obligations and the furnishing of all labor, material, tools, equipment, required permits and other incidentals necessary for the successful completion of the project. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a security in the form of a bond. Acceptable forms of security which may be submitted are: an executed surety bond issued by a company or companies qualified to do business in the State of Illinois with an A.M. Best Rating of at least A-; cash; certified check or cashiers check made payable to VOFL (not including personal or company checks, which are not acceptable); an irrevocable letter of credit; or any other form of deposit issued by a financial institution and acceptable to the VOFL. Bond shall be an amount equal to at least ten (10%) percent of the Total Base Bid Price, payable without condition to the VOFL.
