Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Long Branch, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, services, equipment, transportation, and all else necessary to do all work associated with the construction of ADA accessible pier and boardwalk extension, shown on the plan, together with miscellaneous related work materials. Bids must be made on the standard proposal form in a manner designated therein and required by the specifications. They shall be enclosed in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to the Mayor and Council of the City of Long Branch, bearing on the outside the name of the bidder, his address and the name of the contract for which the bid is submitted. Bids must be accompanied by a certificate from a surety company stating that it will provide the specified performance and maintenance bonds in the event that the contract is awarded to the bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for ten percent of the amount of the bid, not to exceed $20,000, drawn upon an incorporated bank or trust company, payable to the City of Long Branch, as guarantee that in case the contract is awarded the bidder, he will, within ten days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the deposit as a partial satisfaction of liquidated damages, and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. The checks of all bidders will be returned according to law. No interest shall be allowed upon any such check. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or waive any informality where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the City of Long Branch. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designed in the specification.
