Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Long Branch, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The project proposes improvements on Second Avenue between North Bath Avenue and Cedar Avenue, approximately 4,387 linear feet of road. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, concrete and pavement improvements. Major bid items include 22,675 square yards of HMA Milling, 3” or Less, 2,660 tons of HMA 9.5M64 Surface Course, 2” Thick, 4” Thick, 3,640 square yards of Concrete Sidewalk, 4” Thick, and 8,045 linear feet of 8”x18” Concrete Vertical Curb. Bids must be furnished on the proposal sheets included in the Contract Documents, enclosed in a sealed envelope and addressed to Long Branch City Clerk's Office, 344 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740, and plainly marked on the outside with the name and address of the bidder and the Contract Number and Title. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or cash of not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid, payable without any conditional endorsement, as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded the bidder will, within ten (10) days, execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. A bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid may be substituted for certified check or cash, except the amount of bid security shall not be less than $500 or more than $20,000. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certificate of Experience, Certificate of Equipment, and a certificate of Consent of Surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bidders are required to comply with Equal Opportunity Employment, Affirmative Action, and New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act requirements. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a surety company bond in the full amount of the contract price indemnifying the City for all proceedings, suits, or actions, and conditional for the faithful performance of the work. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids if in its opinion it is in the best interest of the City to do so. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
