Site work for a civil project in Natick, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This Invitation for Bids contemplates the following Work to be performed: furnish and install a precast concrete building with miscellaneous equipment to be used for feeding chlorine into the Broad Hill water storage tank, along with associated site work. The Contractor shall supply all labor and materials and equipment necessary to complete the work shown on the Contract Drawings and hereafter contained in the Specifications. The DCAMM classification required for the general contractor is "Water Pump Stations or Sewage Pump Stations. There are no filed sub-bids for this Project. Wage rates paid under this Contract are subject to the minimum wage rates established under the provisions of Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G inclusive of the Massachusetts General Laws. The successful Bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract and a Payment Bond, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, with a surety company that is acceptable to Owner. Every Bid shall be submitted in full accordance with those Instructions to Bidders. Bids shall be valid only when accompanied by all of the following: (1) a fully completed and properly executed "Bid Form for General Bid", in the case of a Bid for the General Contract, (2) Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid, in a form as described in the Instructions to Bidders and made payable to the "Town of Natick"; (3) a copy of a "Certificate of Eligibility" issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the Bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required; and (4) an update statement in such form as the Deputy Commissioner of DCAMM shall prescribe. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of thirty (30) days (Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded) after the actual date of the opening of the General Bids. Bids for this Contract are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Sections 44A et seq. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid deemed by it to be in the best interest of the Town of Natick, and to limit the extent of the work to keep within the limits of available funds. Bidder's attention is directed to the Supplementary Equal Employment Opportunity Anti-Discrimination and Affirmative Action Program requirements of this Contract. The requirements of these programs are explained in the Instructions to Bidders and in Part II of the Supplementary Conditions of the Contract. The award of any contract pursuant to this Invitation for Bids is subject to appropriation by Natick Town Meeting. ** bid date info : If the DPW Building is closed due to weather or other emergency, the deadline for receipt of bids shall be extended until 9:00 A.M. local time on the next business day upon which the Procurement Office is open for business. Each and every bid shall be submitted on the Bid Form furnished with the Bidding Documents and shall be sealed in an envelope which is clearly marked in the lower left-hand corner BID FOR BROADHILL CHEMICAL FEED BUILDING. ** doc info : Hard copy documents may be obtained from the office of Haley and Ward, Inc., 63 Great Road, Suite 200, Maynard, MA 01754-2097, during normal business hours, generally 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. local time, Monday through Friday, beginning at 11:00 A.M. local time on September 17, 2025. All requests for mailing of Bidding Documents shall be accompanied by a separate, nonrefundable handling and mailing fee in the amount of Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) in cash or a separate check made payable to Haley and Ward, Inc. One (1) set of Bidding Documents will be furnished for the deposit and mailing fee stated. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in writing to Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents QA DATE -31/10/2025 DESCRIPTION A. Work included: 1. The Work of this Contract is located in the Town of Natick, MA at the Broad Hill Reservoir located off of Union Street. 2. The work offsite related to the proposed building shall include, but not necessarily be limited to providing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to provide the following: a. One (1) precast concrete chemical building for feeding chlorine into water storage reservoir. b. All required equipment inside the building to be completed by the Owner unless otherwise specified herein and shown on Drawings. 3. Work at the site under this contact shall include but not necessarily be limited to the following: a. Excavate to grade, gravel/stone refill and compaction for building. b. Delivery of building to Broadhill site. c. Off load building and set in final resting place where designated by Owner. d. Furnish crane and required manpower to off load building and set in place. e. Furnishing the leaching basin and frame and cover shall be completed under this contract for installation by Owner.
