Renovation of a military facility in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) seeks construction services for a boiler room overhaul at Station Indian River Inlet. The scope includes removal of the existing boiler, fuel tank, fuel tank lines, and seven blowers throughout the engineering building. The contractor must scrape, clean, and prepare the boiler room, which contains flaking lead-based paint, and repaint it using OSHA and USCG-approved indoor paint. All labor, equipment, tools, and hardware required for the removal, disposal, and installation must be provided by the contractor. The work must be completed within six months of award. Lockout/tag-out electrical supply power IAW OSHA requirements. 2. Remove all existing interferences. 3. Remove the current standing boiler tank, all applicable fuel lines, and fuel line vent IAW all CG policies and OSHA regulations. 4. Remove all components of the installed boiler in the said boiler room to include but not limited to fuel inlet lines, exhaust ducting, all water piping, and water tanks vent IAW all CG policies and OSHA regulations. 5. Remove all electrical components directly related to the operation of the boiler to include but not limited to the electrical junction boxes, conduit, wiring, and switches vent IAW all CG policies and OSHA regulations. a. Contractor shall not interfere with the installed overhead lighting system currently installed. 6. Remove all linear and vertical water piping located throughout the engineering building to include but limited to all piping, pipe stanchions, piping insulations, and any applicable sealant for pipes that run through bulkheads vent IAW all CG policies and OSHA regulations. 7. Remove the blowers located throughout the engineering building to include the overhead ceiling mount located throughout the engineering building vent IAW all CG policies and OSHA regulations. 8. Install a cover plate over the removed ducting component that routes the exhaust gasses through the vertical stack located inside of the boiler room to prevent anything from entering the boiler room from the ventilation shaft. 9. Scrape off all flaking paint located inside the boiler room following policies and procedures for containment of lead-based paint and paint particulates per all CG and OSHA policies and regulations IAW all CG policies and OSHA regulations. 10. Dispose of all hazardous material and contaminated components IAW all local, state and federal regulations. 11. Wipe down and prep the boiler room for painting IAW manufacturer specifications. 12. Paint the boiler room to include but not limited to the ceiling, walls, and entry door intothe boiler room. 13. Reinstall all existing interferences. 14. Conduct a full and final inspection with Station Indian River Inlet Rep (MK1 Pat Chemodurow, not to be delegated). 15. Provide the extended parts and labor warranty documents to customer. Final completion of work will be verified by Station Indian River Inlet Rep (MK1 Pat Chemodurow, not to be delegated).
