Site work and paving for a civil project in Stanley, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The proposed Work is generally described as follows: 1. Installation of approximately 3,100 LF of 8-inch PVC and DIP gravity sewer; 2. Installation and reconnection of 37 sanitary sewer laterals; 3. Installation of a duplex submersible pump station and approximately 460 LF of 4-inch PVC force main; 4. Abandonment of an existing pump station and force main; and 5. Surface restoration of disturbed areas. Contact Jack Koonce jkoonce@gaveldorn.comfor more information about this project. Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina. All Subcontractors must also be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina. Bids will be received on a unit price basis. Bid security in an amount of 5 percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid must accompany each Bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. Contractor and all Subcontractors will be required to conform to the labor standards employment requirements set forth in the Contract Documents. The Bidder is required to make a good faith effort to meet a combined 10 percent goal for minority business participation in the total value of Work in accordance with State G.S. 143-128.2. The Bidder shall identify efforts made in this regard and list minority business enterprises that will be used on the project as required in the Bidding Documents. If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form for acceptance of the Bid. Scope of Work: 1. The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer for review and approval, such working drawings, shop drawings, test reports and data on materials and equipment herein after in this article called data), and material samples (hereinafter in this article called samples) as are required for the proper control ofwork, including but not limited to those working drawings, shop drawings, data and samples for materials and equipment specified elsewhere in the Specification and in the Contract Drawings. 2. Within fourteen (14) calendar days after the Effective Date ofthe Agreement, the Contractor shall submit to the Engineer a complete list of preliminary data on items for which Shop Drawings are to be submitted. Included in this list shall be the names of all proposed manufacturers furnishings specified items. Review ofthis list by the Engineer shall in no way, expressed or implied, relieve the Contractor from submitting complete Shop Drawings and providing materials, equipment, etc., fully in accordance with the Specifications. This procedure is required to expedite final review of Shop Drawings. The Contractor is to maintain an accurate updated submittal log and will bring this log to each scheduled progress meeting with the Owner and the Engineer. This log should include the following items: a. Submittal-Description and Number assigned. b. Date to Engineer c. Date returned to Contractor (from Engineer). d. Status of Submittal Approved, Approved as Noted, Rejected/Resubmit e. Date ofre-submittal and return (as applicable). f. Date of material release (for fabrication). g. Projected date offabrication. h. Projected date of delivery to site. i. Status of O&M manuals submittal. j. Specification Section. k. Drawings sheet number. A. All work within the rights-of-way ofthe North Carolina Department ofTransportation (DOT) shall be done in accordance with the NCDOT's requirements and Contract Documents. Upon completion ofsuch work and prior to final payment, the Contractor shall present to the Owner certificates in duplicate from the NCDOT stating that the work has been done in accordance with the NCDOT's requirements and is acceptable to them. B. Construction signing and traffic control shall conform to the "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" latest revision, as published by the State ofNorth Carolina Department of Transportation, Division ofHighways. C. Contractor shall meet all requirements ofthe NCDOT Encroachment Agreement Special Conditions. D. Contractor must obtain the NCDOT's approval for any and all partial lane closure, road closures, detours, deliveries, and similar activities that may impact and/or inconvenience the flow oftraffic. E. No additional payment will be made for adherence to the NCDOT's requirements, including traffic control. All costs for these items shall be included in other bid items.
