1. Contractor to supply snow removal equipment, salt, and labor to remove snow from sidewalks and parking areas marked on the campus property. 2. Snow removal service should include: a. Snow removal off all surfaces with 1/2 " or more of snow. Any accumulation of 1/2 " or less does not require removal unless specifically requested by the Sauk County Buildings and Grounds Director. b. Salt all sidewalks and parking lots after snow has been removed or freezing rain takes place c. All driveways, and parking areas shall be cleaned to be hazard free to all school personnel, and students by 7:00 am each day at the campus. Plowing will be considered completed with areas scraped to the area's surface and snow accumulation is completely removed from the areas specified. d. Snow should always be plowed away from the buildings and definitely never be plowed against any door, fencing, trash dumpsters or fire hydrants. e. Snow will need to be pushed back or hauled out with proper equipment to ensure sight lines are clear at all intersections. f. Snow piles can be pushed in the larger area not in the contract. g. Sidewalks, parking lots and school entry ways are the priority. h. Sauk County staff will clear snow up to 6' out of the doorways to all buildings on the Campus for each snowfall. The sidewalks will be marked 6' out from all doors with orange driveway markers. i. Snowplowing equipment is to be appropriately sized for the job. For example: large, heavy and/or wide tracking equipment is not to be used on narrow sidewalks. j. When weather dictates, parking areas or lots, and drives shall be done on a regular basis. Vendor should check in with the Sauk County Building and Grounds director regularly when a large snow storm is taking place. k. Plowing shall be done on weekdays and weekends prior to the times specified for clearance. In unusual heavy snowfalls or untimely storms, the clearance schedule will be flexible, however, plowing shall be completed as soon as possible thereafter. l. Clearance time schedules may be slightly altered during school vacation periods, holidays, and most Saturdays since school will not be in session. Occasionally, the schools may have a nonschool day or evening activity which may necessitate clearance of snow. Contract will be awarded by Sauk County, and will run from December 1, 2025 to April 15, 2027 approximately 20 weeks of snow removal for 2025-26 & 20 weeks of snow removal for 2026-27 school years RFB Contacts: Ian Crammond Sauk County Building & Grounds Director ian.crammond@saukcountywi.gov 608-963-7546
