A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Complete construction of Alterations for SCLSNJ BOUND BROOK LIBRARY BRANCH (Block 12 / Lot 14) 402 East High Street, Bound Brook, New Jersey 08805 CONTRACT BID: Includes all work and materials required to complete the project: Contract No. 1 Single Overall Contract Bid Last Day to Submit Questions - September 25, 2025 Notice to Proceed - October 17, 2025 Final Completion - March 27, 2026 Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid Each Bidder shall submit with its bid, a Consent of Surety as per N.J.S.A. 40A:11-22 from a surety company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey, stating that the surety will provide the successful bidder and its subcontractors with a performance/payment bond in the full amount of the contract The Borough reserves the right to waive any informalities in, or to reject, any or all bids in whole or in part, in accordance with applicable law PROJECT SUMMARY: The intent of this asbestos abatement project is to remove all asbestoscontaining materials (ACM's) within the entire building, with the exception of the Adult Reading Room, prior to its renovation. The Contractor is responsible for the three (3) phases of removal of all ACM's outlined in the subsequent table. Phase 1 includesthe removal of all books, electronic equipment (monitors, fax machines, etc.), wall hangings, materials and supplies, light tubes and bulbs, fluorescent light ballasts, plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets) obstructing abatement operations, furniture and materials that must be managed as universal or other solid wastes, contained within the multi-level portion of the library. All materials removed during Phase 1 are to be considered contaminated and therefore packaged and disposed of accordingly (i.e., boxed and double-bagged as asbestos waste or cleaned and contained in another suitable manner that is consistent with waste classification and management requirements). Phase 2 includes the removal of the shelving units affixed to the ceilings and floors and the subsequent removal of the acoustic ceiling plaster and associated wire lathe from the various ceilings and shall be completed within a full containment under unoccupied building conditions, per N.J.A.C. 5:23-8.15. Additionally, Phase 2 shall incorporate the removal of asbestos containing sheetrock and joint compound and, removal of the ceramic tile adhesive and impacted plaster and sheetrock/ wallboard, as well as the removal of all thermal system insulation within the facility. (Note: if ceramic tile adhesive is affixed only to sheetrock in certain areas, and the sheetrock can be removed intact, that sheetrock with adhered ceramic tile adhesive can be removed under Phase 3). Phase 3 includes the removal of the flooring, both tile and sheet flooring and its associated mastic as well as fire putty and transite within negatively pressured, general isolation enclosures as a non-friable removal outside of the regulatory requirements of N.J.A.C. 5:23-8.
