Site work for a water / sewer project in Williamsburg, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This Request for Proposals is issued by James City Service Authority (JCSA) to obtain proposals for professional engineering services to assist JCSA with the design, permitting, and bidding phases for approximately 20,000 linear feet of water main replacement in the Kingspoint subdivision located in James City County. The Kingspoint water system contains 232 service connections. Attachment A outlines the project area. The existing water system serving this area consists predominantly of 2", 6", and 8" galvanized steel and PVC water mains installed in the 1960's. In addition to the water mains being undersized by current standards, limiting available fire flow, the area has also exhibited an increased number of main breaks within the past several years. JCSA intends to replace all water mains in this area with new water mains. In addition to replacing the water mains, new valves, fire hydrants, service connections, and water meter boxes shall be installed. In conjunction with the water system improvements, JCSA proposes to install approximately 150 low pressure sewer service connections to properties currently served by on-lot septic systems. The service connections will be installed on existing low pressure sewer mains. Th project will require James City County site plan approval. It is anticipated that a VDH permit will not be required, as this project would fall under JCSA's general distribution permit. Contact Person: Stephanie Luton, JCSA Assistant General Manager. RFP Date notes: Offerors should indicate on the Cover Sheet the portions of their proposal that are proprietary. Please list the page numbers and the reason(s). Do not mark the whole proposal proprietary. If Proprietary information is stated, Offerors shall submit One (1) Original and One (1) Redacted copy (removing any proprietary data or material. Clearly identify on the Cover Sheet the "Original" and "Redacted" copy, as "Redacted Copy of Original Proposal" RFP# 20260328, "Kingspoint Water System Improvements Design".This Request for Proposals is issued by James City Service Authority (JCSA) to obtain proposals for professional engineering services to assist JCSA with the design, permitting, and bidding phases for approximately 20,000 linear feet of water main replacement in the Kingspoint subdivision located in James City County.
