Furnish Asphalt Concrete, Mixes and SS-1h Emulsion Description Scope of Services To furnish the ANTICIPATED annual requirement of Asphalt Concrete, Mixes and SS-1h Emulsion on an "AS REQUESTED" basis for the City of Torrance Public Works Department for a period of 5 years. The Public Works Department requires the products listed below to perform street maintenance work on city streets on a daily basis. Street maintenance crews complete approximately 10 acres of road repairs annually. Public Works crews will pick up most of the required product from the vendor (Will Call) and transport the material to the work site. Due to the need to have hot asphalt mix at the job site, it is imperative for crews to have access to a plant within close proximity to Torrance. While there is not a specific mile radius requirement, it is essential to ensure that the products (picked up by City Staff) arrive at the jobsite with a working temperature between 285 and 350 Fahrenheit for proper application at the site. The City's mileage burden rate (City vehicle cost plus manpower rate) multiplies by the number of round trip miles (as posted online) from the City Services Facilities to the vendors location to pick up product multiplies by the vendor's price submittal (multiplies by the anticipate annual usage) will be used to determine the lowest responsible bidder.
