Summary:The Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority is seeking quotes to replace two existing sodium hypochlorite storage tanks at the Observatory Water Treatment Plant. Scope and Construction Notes 1. The Authority has received a quote for two sodium hypochlorite storage tanks whichshall be procured and installed by the Contractor. Refer to Attachment Afor thePlansand Specifications, along with Attachment F for the tank quotation, contractor toverifytank pricing prior to submitting proposal. 2. Work to be performed shall be inclusive of any labor, equipment, and materialsnecessaryto remove and dispose of the existing fiberglass tanks and install newreplacement polyethylene tanks. 3. Restoration of removable wall panels for access, disturbed pavement, lawns, grass, orother existing features shall be incidental to the pricing provided in the quote. All property disturbed or damaged shall be restored to pre-existing conditions at noadditional cost to the Authority. 4. The existing PVC piping and level instrumentation shall be disconnectedandreconnectedto the new tanks. The Contractor scope shall include field routing and fittingtheexistingpiping to the new tank connections, as well as providing additional piping, conduit andwiring as required to complete the connections. 5. Substantial Completion shall be achieved within 180 calendar days of NoticetoProceedand issuance of a purchase order. Substantial Completion is defined as havingfinishedthe work and submitted all acceptance testing to RWSA, as well as havingcompletedallrestoration work at the project site. 6. One storage tank must remain in service at all times. The Contractor shall provideat least14 Working Days of notice prior to mobilization to site, as well as for RWSAtotransferchemicals between tanks. 7. Regular allowable work hours for this project shall be from8 AM5 PM, MondayFriday, unless otherwise authorized in writing by the Owner and Engineer. Workonweekends and Authority holidays will not be permitted for this project. 8. If awarded, Contractor will be issued a purchase order for the work (Attachment C). 9. If awarded, Contractor shall provide proof of adequate insurance (Attachment D). 10. Manager. The checklist provided (Section 01 80 00) shall be completedandsubmittedtoOwner for review at least 3 business days prior to the meeting.
