Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Carson, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a 1,745-square-foot playground / park / athletic field.

Bid is cancelled, As per the owner the project has been cancelled. Editorial content team is actively seeking updated information. Carriage Crest is an approximately ~14 acre park. Originally just ~4 acres, the recent and ongoing project expands into an adjacent ~10 acre old nursery, creating the 14 acre site. The Project consists of construction of four separate type VB non sprinklered support Buildings, at Carriage Crest Park as indicated in Contract Documents. The buildings are comprised of 8" masonry walls and wood roof clad with standing seam metal. All buildings will be placed on mat foundations per structural. This is a fast track project. This project scope includes, but not limited to the following: Building 1 - concessions/restroom building will be 1,005 SF and will have a PTAC unit provided along the upper east wall for the concessions space. There will be 2 drinking fountains provided along the west side of the building where the restroom entrances will be located. Vents and screens in the upper roof portion in the restroom area will allow for natural ventilation. There is a methane mitigation system. Building 2 - restrooms will be 340 SF with the lavatories provided on the exterior. Building 3 - storage 1 will be 325 SF located approximately 15' from the east wall of building 2 using vents and screens in the upper wall / roof areas to allow for natural ventilation. Building 4 - storage 2 will be 75 SF using vents and screens in the upper roof portion to allow for natural ventilation. This work shall be concurrent to the balance of the park work, currently underway with contractor "urban habitat". The park work should complete in December 2025. Therefore, there will be an overlap. a path of travel and staging area shall be provided. A PLA agreement is in place. A staging area with criteria shall be designated. Contractor shall be required to "complete" the staging area scope of work at completion, i.e. asphalt, striping and minor OFCI items. Failure to demonstrate above experience shall render the bid unresponsive and it shall be rejected. See section 30. This IFB does not commit the City of Carson to award a contract or to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a response. All responses become the property of the City and, once a selection is made, may be considered public records, subject to disclosure under the California Public Records Act--except for those elements lawfully exempt from disclosure.
