The work covered under these Contract Documents is located in Robinson Township, Allegheny County, generally along West Harbison Road, as shown on the location plan. West Harbison Road Waterline Replacement A Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Maintenance Bond in the amounts specified within the Contract Documents will be required of the successful Bidder. Adherence to Instructions to Bidders is required. No Bid or any part thereof shall be withdrawn by Bidder for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the Bid Opening. The right is reserved by the Owner to reject any or all Bids or parts of bids and to waive technical defects in any Bid. Without intending to limit and/or restrict the volume of work required by this Contract, the work generally consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, and transportation, and perform all operations necessary to complete the work as specified and/or indicated on the Construction Drawings and as summarized below: 1. Preliminary Investigation. Supplement existing preliminary investigation of the site as required to provide a sound basis for the planned improvements, including the waterline, all other appurtenances, and all other work described by the Contract Documents. These investigations may include, but not be limited to, utility research, review of existing record drawings, site investigations and others as the Contractor requires to complete the Contract work. 2. Procurement and Construction. The following project features are to be included in the project and are to be furnished, installed or constructed (as appropriate) in accordance with the Contract Documents. Site Facilities and Services 1) Provide temporary services and facilities, traffic maintenance and protection, and erosion and sedimentation control, as required for construction of this Contract. 2) Surveying for locations and grades. 3) Excavation, bedding, backfill, backfill materials, and compaction 4) Sheet, brace, and support the adjoining ground or structures. 5) Provide for dewatering of trenches as needed. 6) Install waterline, pressure reducing vault, service lines, valves, fire hydrants, and other appurtenances as specified herein. 7) Revegetate construction area and restore damaged hedges and fences, restore curbs, roadways and other surfaces as specified herein. 8) Perform all required testing. 9) Dispose of all waste and surplus materials. 10) Maintain redline record drawings of Contract work completed and provide these redline drawings to the Engineer at project completion. Redline record drawings shall be available for Engineer's review at all times. 11) All other related work as intended or reasonably implied in the Contract Documents
