Question Deadline 10/13/2025- All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Owner in writing. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Questions and other inquiries shall be submitted to the City of Chattanooga Purchasing Department, 101 East 11th Street, Suite G13, Chattanooga, TN 37402 Sealed Bids for furnishing all materials,labor, tools, equipment, and appurtenances necessary for the construction ofthe Pump Station Improvements - Phase3 The Project consists of two independentlydesigned projects (Part 1 and Part 2)being contracted as a single project. Part 1 - TIFTONIA #3 PUMP STATION IMPROVEMENTS consists of the following major work elements: Demolition of existing prefabricated pump station, controlpanel, control panel canopy, and associated appurtenances; replacement/expansion of existing fence and gates; furnishingand erecting new Redi-Rock retainingwalls; replacement/expansion of existinggraveled surfaces; installation of new castin-place concrete wetwell and valve vault(including access hatches and fall protection safety grating) adjacent to existingpump station; furnishing and installingthree (3) new submersible sewage pumps,ductile iron piping and fittings, and appurtenances in new wetwell; furnishing andinstalling new ductile iron piping and fittings, valves, and appurtenances in newvalve vault; furnishing and installing a new5-foot by 6-foot flow meter vault; furnishingand installing new 18-inch-diameter forcemain piping (60+/- L.F.), new 14-inch-diameter force main piping (20+/- L.F.), fittings, valves, and appurtenances from newvalve vault to tie-in point into existing forcemain; placement of a new cast-in-place reinforced concrete vehicle approach padadjacent to the new pump stationwetwell/valve vault; furnishing and installing new control panel, control panelcanopy, VFDs panel, automatic transferswitch enclosure, telemetry panel, and appurtenances; furnishing and installing new30-inch-diameter ductile iron gravity sewerline (76+/- L.F.) between existing 18-inchdiameter ductile iron gravity sewer line tothe existing wetwell and the new wetwell(including two new 5-foot-diameter manholes); furnishing and installing a new diesel-operated backup generator,concrete mounting pad, and appurtenances; furnishing and installing a new3/4-inch-diameter water service line(145+/- L.F.) from the existing water mainto a new backflow preventer housed in ahot box; furnishing and installing a newwater meter for the new water service line;placement of a new cast-in-place concretewash down pad; backfilling, grading, andgraveling a new site access drive (40+/-L.F.); furnishing and installing a new temporary bypass pump connection assembly; temporary bypass pumping; andmiscellaneous electrical work. Part 2 - WINTERVIEW PUMP STATIONIMPROVEMENTS consists of the following major work elements: Removal of theexisting submersible grinder sewagepump from the existing 4-foot- diameterwetwell; removal of the steel frame andfiberglass hinged hood over the existingwetwell; removal of the ductile iron pipesand fittings, hose and appurtenances fromthe existing wetwell; dismantling of the existing pump controls/rack and relocation oftelemetry panel; removal of select treesadjacent to new pump station site; furnishing and erecting new Redi-Rock retainingwall around the perimeter of the new pumpstation site; furnishing and installing a new6-foot-diameter precast concrete wetwell(including access hatches and fall protection safety grating) adjacent to existingpump station; furnishing and installing two(2) new submersible grinder sewagepumps, guide rails, ductile iron piping andfittings, and associated appurtenances inthe new wetwell; furnishing and installinga new precast concrete valve vault (including ductile iron piping fittings, valves, andassociated appurtenances); furnishing andinstalling new 4-inch-diameter ductile ironforce main piping, fittings, and associatedappurtenances from the new valve vault tothe tie-in point to the existing 4-inch-diameter force main; furnishing and installingnew control panel, control panel canopy,and appurtenances; furnishing and installing a new 12-inch-diameter ductile irongravity sewer line between existing andnew wetwells; placement/grading/compacting of fill material within new pumpstation site; furnishing and installing newfence and access gate around the perimeter of the new pump station site; placementof the new pavement at the new pump station site; replacement of the existing air release valve assembly near the intersectionof Winterview Lane and Scenic Highway;replacement of the existing combinationair/vacuum valve assembly along Battlefield Walk and Bike Trail; and miscellaneous electrical work. Each Bid must be accompanied by a BidBond, prepared on the form of Bid Bondattached to the Contract Documents or aSurety Company's Standard Bid Bond,duly executed by the Bidder as principaland having as surety thereon a suretycompany licensed to do business in theState of Tennessee and listed as a certified company in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, in the amount of five percent of the Bid. The allotted time for substantial completionis 480 calendar days for Part 1 and 300 calendar days for Part 2 after the datewhen the Contract Time commences torun. The allotted time for the total projectcompletion is 510 calendar days after thedate when the Contract Time commencesto run. No bid may be withdrawn within 120 calendar days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. The City of Chattanooga is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Any contract or contracts awarded underthis Advertisement for Bids are expectedto be funded with local funds in addition tofunds indicated elsewhere. The Owner will in no way be liable for anycosts incurred by any bidder in the preparation of its Bid in response to this Invitation to Bid. The successful Bidder for this Contract willbe required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond eachin the amount of 100 percent of the Bid. ** Doc info :The checkshould be made out to the City of Chattanooga and mailed to the City of Chattanooga Purchasing Department, 101 East11th Street, Suite G13, Chattanooga, TN37402.
