Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in New London, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The Work includes the following major items: The removal and disposal of an asphalt milling parking lot. The excavation of soil within the community garden footprint to 1 foot below surface grade. The installation of an orange demarcation/separation fabric at the base of the excavation. The backfilling and limited restoration of the excavation area with 1 foot of clean topsoil. The disposal of the excavated impacted soils. SITE DESCRIPTION A. The site is located near the entrance of Riverside Park along Adelaide Street in New London Connecticut. The site consists of an approximately 40 x 100 foot asphalt milling parking area and two 10 x 40 foot strips of grass along the east and west sides of the parking area. Initial soil testing results identified pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and petroleum products at concentrations above Connecticut's Remediation Standard Regulations within the proposed community garden footprint. The goal of the project is to remove shallow soil impacts and transform the parking area into a viable foundation for raised garden beds and communal planting areas. he proposed community garden footprint is shown on Figure 1. The laboratory analytical data report for soil samples collected from the target area is attached for reference. Question Deadline 10/01/2025 at 12:00 PM ET Bidders shall submit all inquiries regarding this bid via the City of New London's e-Procurement Portal. Bid Bond - Ten percent (10%) due at time of bid for all contract services and public works/construction projects that exceed twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) Performance Bond - One hundred percent (100%) of contract price for projects that exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). Labor and Material Payment Bonds - One hundred percent (100%) of contract price for projects that exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). Award of this contract will be made to the lowest responsible, qualified proposer and will be based on net cost and City specifications. The City of New London reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any informality and to award this contract to other than the low proposer and to make multiple awards if deemed in the best interest of the City. twenty-five percent (25%) female and minority.
