Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Mio, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit bids from qualified contractors for the construction of a new sidewalk at Mio-AuSable Schools in Mio, MI. The proposed sidewalk will be approximately 160 feet in length and must meet standard Michigan and ADA requirements. To view the site of the proposed sidewalk, contact the superintendents office at Mio-AuSable Schools. Thickness: The sidewalk shall be 4 inches thick, with a minimum thickness of 6 inches at driveways/vehicle crossings (if applicable). o Base Material: The sidewalk shall be constructed on a compacted granular base. o Concrete Mix: The concrete mix shall have a compressive strength of 4,000 psi and shall be air-entrained. o Control Joints: Control joints shall be installed at approximately 5-foot intervals to control cracking and ensure a durable sidewalk. o Slopes: The sidewalk shall be constructed with ADA-compliant slopes, with a maximum cross-slope of 2%. o Width: The width of the sidewalk shall be 5 feet. o Driveways/Vehicle Crossings: There will be no vehicle crossings over this sidewalk. The construction of the sidewalk shall comply with the following standards: o Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) standards o Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards o Local township standards The project timeline shall be to complete the sidewalk by October 20, 2025.
