Sealed bids are requested from experienced and eligible contractors for the Blackhawk Middle School Site Improvements project in strict accordance with the prepared drawings and specifications. Each bid must include all necessary labor, material, and services to complete the project. Bids shall be received from a single prime contractor. All plans, specifications, instructions to bidders, and bid forms are available at Eastern Engineering’s Virtual Planroom or at their office. A refundable deposit is required for each set of plans and specifications, and only complete sets will be distributed. Unlocked electronic PDF sets of drawings are available for an additional cost. Unsuccessful bidders who return the sets in good condition within ten days of the bid date will be refunded their deposit, though shipping and handling charges apply. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or a bid bond for 5% of the bid. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn, or canceled for sixty days following receipt without consent. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds amounting to 100% of the contract amount are required from the successful bidder within ten days of contract execution and must remain valid for twelve months after Substantial Completion. The Board reserves the right to reject any bids, waive informalities, or assign any portion of the contract to a non-profit building corporation controlled by the Board without consent. All contracts and payment obligations are contingent on securing sufficient financing.
