Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Asheville, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field; and one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
Buncombe County is seeking professional services to assess damage, evaluate safety risks, and prepare detailed construction documents for recovery and repair work at Karpen Soccer Fields and Alexander River Park. The intent is to restore safe, functional, and resilient public recreation spaces that meet current design, safety, and environmental standards. The scope of work will be completed in two phases: Phase 1 - Damage Assessment & Cost Estimation: Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of both locations, including existing hydrological conditions. Identify all structural, civil, and site-related damages caused by Tropical Storm Helene. Evaluate safety hazards, ADA compliance issues, and environmental concerns. Provide preliminary conceptual repair recommendations. Prepare a detailed construction cost estimate. Phase 2 - 100% Construction Documents for Repairs: Develop full engineering and design documents for all approved repair work. Provide all necessary permitting support. Ensure designs comply with FEMA, ADA, ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS and relevant environmental regulations. Obtain all necessary permits to complete work. Prepare bid-ready 100% Construction Documents (CDs). Buncombe County reserves the right not to proceed with Phase 2.
