Summary Isle of Wight County is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified firms to establish a contract through competitive negotiations for Rushmere Well No. 5 Conversion . Background The Rushmere Pump Station and facilities have deteriorated significantly and are in need of urgent repair / replacement. Isle of Wight County has produced engineering drawings describing the needs repairs, equipment replacement and removal. The fully functional finished product will allow Isle of Wight to operate more efficiently and with optimized maintenance and operational efforts and cost. All Work shall be completed in accordance with the 2018 edition of the Virginia Statewide Building Code. The contractor shall obtain all required permits. County will waive local permit fees. Services are being performed in accordance with Rushmere Pump Station Repairs and Well #5 connection project purpose This project will correct the pump station's deteriorating equipment while establishing a renewed water source with well #5. The fixes will optimize maintenance, operation, water quality, and long-term functionality of the Rushmere well pump station. Scope of Work The project will demolish and remove the existing pump station tank system and associated equipment. The building will be modified to facilitate the new pumping equipment skid to be installed and connect well #5 and removing and closing / abandoning unused well source in compliance with standards. The water source will be maintained operational throughout the project duration. The existing driveway will be improved to repair previous use damage. Temporary fencing, erosion and sediment control, and other related construction requirements apply and must conform to Isle of Wight County requirements.
