Rental Housing Site Redevelopment and Operation at 564 Fifth Street, Nanaimo, BC. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals is underway from ("BC Housing") to non-profit organization, cooperatives, faith groups, First Nations, Indigenous groups, federal and local governments, for profit developers in partnership with a non-profit, or a combination of entities to submit proposals for the creation of new rental housing units through redevelopment of the site located at 564 Fifth Street. Private developer-builders are allowed under the condition that they partner with one of the aforementioned entities who will ultimately hold ownership, will respond to this RFP as a Proponent and will be the recipient of grant funds and long-term financing. BC Housing will evaluate the non-profit organizations to select the successful Proponent. Question Deadline: 10/24/2025 at 2:00 PM PT Deadline for Issuing Addenda October 31, 2025.
