This pad shall be constructed to withstand the attachment of a steel storage building. Bid Summary: The concrete pad shall be constructed to support the attachment of a steel storage building. The overall dimensions of the concrete pad shall be 70 feet in width by 200 feet in length (14,000 SF) and 8 inches in depth. Approximately 350 cubic yards of concrete shall be poured in a monolithic fashion. A 5% Bid Bond is required for this RFB. Submit a copy of your Bid Bond in the VENDOR RESPONSE section of this RFB. Mail-in or Drop-off responses will be accepted and must be placed in an envelope, sealed and received in the City Purchasing Office on or before the date and hour designated due date. City of White House Purchasing Manager 105 D College Street, White House, TN 37188 Concrete pad shall be constructed to withstand the attachment of a steel storage building. The overall dimensions of the concrete pad shall be 70' feet in width x 200' feet in length and 8" inches in depth (approximately 350 cubic yard of concrete) shall be poured in a monolithic fashion. An additional +/- 150 cubic yards shall be allotted for driveway aprons. Saw cut control joints shall be installed at appropriate locations to prevent damage from expansion and contraction of concrete during temperature changes. A 2' feet x 2' feet perimeter footer band shall be constructed to allow for attachment of building. # 3 rebar, underlayment of 6 millimeter polyethylene vapor barrier, and chair rails shall be utilized in preparation of concrete being poured. The proposed building will have 10 bays with 2 doors per bay, which will require driveway aprons to be poured to allow entry from both sides of the building (20 aprons in total). The concrete shall be commercial rated 5,000 PSI concrete with no entrained air. Prior to pouring the concrete there shall be a minimum uniform thickness of 4" of #57 stone (approximately 250 tons of stone) installed and mechanically compacted/consolidated as to allow for a uniform thickness of 8" inches of concrete. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the following: o Construct a perimeter footer band (2' x 2') around proposed building site to support steel building attachment. o Install #3 rebar with chair rails per industry standards. o Provide and install 6 mil polyethylene vapor barrier beneath slab. o Prepare subgrade with approximately 250 tons of #57 stone, placed and mechanically compacted to a minimum of 4" uniform thickness. o Form and pour a monolithic slab, measuring 70' x 200' (14,000 SF), 8" thick, using 5,000 PSI commercial concrete with no entrained air. o Provide a trowel finish on all exposed surfaces. o Install saw cut control joints at specified locations to control expansion and contraction. o Construct 13 driveway aprons, sized for bay door access, utilizing an additional +-150 cubic yards of concrete. o Total concrete quantity estimated at 350 CY for slab and +-150 CY for aprons, equaling +-500 CY total. o Labor, tools, and equipment to complete installation o All work to be performed in a professional manner consistent with industry standards Concrete must contain additive to resist damage caused by road salt o Concrete shall have fiber mesh included in mix design in addition to wire mesh and chairs o Pocket savers must be installed on the edge of the concrete pad prior to the installation of the drive aprons to account for rebar installation between apron and concrete pad. An 8" wide section of concrete shall be poured immediately adjust to the footer, at the same depth as the footer to prevent settling between the pad and drive apron. o Please see attachment for specs
