Renovation of a fire / police facility in Blackstone, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The Town of Blackstone, Virginia is seeking sealed bids from firms or individuals to fabricate and install rooftop safety railings on the burn building for the Blackstone Volunteer Fire Department at the Fire Training Grounds 1. Delivery and installation must be included 2. Warranty shall be a minimum of 12 months parts and labor starting with the date of acceptance by Blackstone Volunteer Fire Department. RFP requirements for Roof Safety Railing Blackstone Burn Building located at 1549 Rocky Bump Road 1 1/2" inside diameter galvanized pipe rails and posts 42" high above roof/wall junction 6" of vertical posts welded to 1/2 " thick embedded plate at roof slab edge 3 equally spaced horizontal pipe rails above roof slab edge 4" flat steel plate welded to vertical posts at the bottom of rail leaving approximately 1" gap allowing for water runoff North Safety Railing will be approximately 16' long South Safety Railing will be approximately 14' long Each side will have one gate approximately 4' wide to allow for multiple roof operations which will swing 180 degrees Maximum of 48" between each vertical post All railings will be fabricated and installed using at least 4 bolts per plate Bolts shall be at least 3/8" X 5" Hilti KH-EZ screw or equivalent Requests for additional technical information on the specifications shall be directed to the Blackstone Volunteer Fire Department Training Officer, Asst.
