The Fitchburg Public Library is seeking a proposal for a creative, interactive feature for our Childrens Department. The intent is to create a new interactive experience that provides a background for imagination and play, and creates a destination for children 0 through 12 years old and their families. Project Description We envision two to three elements including the entrance to the Childrens Library, the current play space, and potentially throughout the department to create a cohesive theme. The goal of this project is to create a modern, inclusive, and welcoming space that reflects the librarys commitment to early literacy, access, creativity, and lifelong learning. We seek to integrate elements of play into these spaces to provide a unique experience for our communitys children and families. Scope of Project The scope of work for this project is to design, construct, and install creative elements in the Childrens Library that maintain access to materials and seating areas. The project shall generally include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. Fun and creative, sparking curiosity and imagination. 2. Durable enough to withstand years of use by children. 3. Built with safety in mind for use by young children. 4. Full of vibrant colors within the librarys design palette. 5. Contains elements that create an immersive and whimsical environment. 6. Appealing and accessible to children of all abilities and various ages fromtoddler to tween. 7. Interactive. 8. Able to be cleaned and disinfected. 9. Located within the Childrens Library. 10.Within a maximum budget of $100,000 for design, manufacturing, and installation.
